This is a basic four star hotel with several outstanding features. It used to be a German bank before it was converted to a hotel, and has high ceilings, with chandeliers in certain rooms. The rooms themselves are in need of refurbishment, but are otherwise comfortable. The bed is great! The breakfast in their terrace restaurant is merely adequate, but the place itself is open 24hrs for coffee or just hanging out (byob!). Their piece de resistance, however, is their location, and the view from the terrace and from some rooms! It's truly amazing in all directions. The hotel is literally steps away from the Galata bridge (for walking across to the Sultanahmet area), the ferry terminal to Kadikoy and other places, the Tunel (funicular) to Istiklal street, and the T1 tram to Kabatas (Dolmabahce Palace) and Sultanahmet. This area, Karakoy, is a great nightlife area with cool restaurants and bars. The beautiful Galataport area is a very short walk away. Last but not least, it's the exemplary level of service from all the staff! They are all wonderfully polite and helpful. They can arrange airport transportation and tours, and are very responsive to pre-visit email and WhatsApp queries. If you're looking for a modern hotel and great Turkish breakfast, this is not it. But aside from that, it's fantastic.

A brilliant location easy walk to the grand Bazar the tram is outside the door and the galata tower the staff were super helpful and accommodating. The rooms were clean and a good size with so.e fantastic views and the breakfast was a great start ti the day

Be very careful when booking with this hotel. They are completely inflexible and will prioritize their profits over your needs. In spite of a medical emergency, they refused to modify or cancel the reservation. While I understand that it was a non-refundable reservation, I was hoping they would understand that a medical emergency that caused me to leave the country is worthy of an exception. I was wrong. They will put profit over everything. Once they have your money, they don't care about anything else.

The main advantage of the hotel is the location: nearby Galata bridge! For those willing to enjoy a nice view over the bridge and to see as many attractions of this beautiful city, it might be a perfect choice. Obviously, this advantage comes with a trade-off: city noise, so keeping the windows closed for a night of good sleep is a must. Our room had a high ceiling, the bed was ok with four pillows. WiFi was very poor; even if is free still requires login with a password given by the reception employees. It is advised to try login being attended by them as is happening very often to get the message that the password was already used, hence not valid any longer. As the hotel doesn't have a restaurant, the breakfast prepared thru catering is good to very good. One learning during our staying was NOT TO TRUST reception employees regarding logistics and touring recommendations. They are more interested to get their commissions from tourism partners. To give two examples: the hotel is "offering" transfers from and to the airport for a fare of 45 EUR; on arrival, we rejected such an offer and we got a taxi that requested 25 EUR (tip included), on departure we requested a transfer but the car couldn't arrive in time and after 25 minutes we got a regular taxi that drove us to the airport in 35 minutes. Another example: we were willing to use a Hop On - Hop Off bus to squeeze the most of the city. Reception employees were reluctant to give us any details, recommending instead a boat trip. After a short research, we were able to find the route and stops of Hop On busses, and guess what? One of the bus stops was just in front of the hotel!!!

The biggest win about this hotel is it’s amazing staff. Peri and Hayreddin on the front desk went out of their way to make our stay great, helping with reservations, with directions, taxis etc. etc. and the other teams (concierge, cleaning, dining) are all very helpful, very friendly and help add to what made our stay here very enjoyable. Our sea-view room was beautiful, high ceilings, lovely features, great views over Galata Bridge, and very spacious. There is also a terrace at the top, with 360 views of the area, including being able to view Galata Tower. You can enjoy your breakfast out here or tea & coffee at any point of the day. The location is great for access to transport, dining, shopping and attractions - Old Town is only a 15 minute stroll away. The only reason I haven’t given 5 is because of the noise at night from outside. No fault of the hotel, the location has lots of night time activity and it can get noisy. The website also was a little misleading. I read it thinking there was a traditional hammam onsite available to all guests, but in fact it’s available in one of the guest rooms (but the team did make a reservation for us at a SPA just a short walk away, which was amazing and very relaxing).
